Monday Madness {Vacation Bible School}

Ugh. I am really tired and sore. But waking up to impish grins and book-loving snuggle bunnies was nice. ♥

The last time I managed to get up before 7:30 AM was back when I could actually get up before dawn to get my day started - the above pic is from one oh-so-early morning while studying for one of my last history tests....in the morning light at 6 AM.

Getting up is painful.
Especially for this teenage girl.
You know how sleep is referred to as beauty sleep -for girls, not guys!-? Well, trust me, I need all of that kind of sleep that I can get!

My youngest nephew sleeping over for the week wanted to sleep in my bed last night....I miss hearing that from my oldest nephew. But he's too cool for that now. I wish little boys wouldn't grow up so fast, and that teenage boys wouldn't dawdle so much about it(growing up), lol.
Anyways, after posting yesterday's blog post, I brushed my teeth, got changed, and settled down into bed. Of course, I had to move him quite a bit, but he wasn't as heavy as I thought, so that was good. I settled down and started listening to music on my MP3 player.
I got to thinking, and I rolled over carefully, so as not to squish my nephew, and felt wetness. I started to panic, but realized it was only from him sweating.
I settled back down . . .
Annnnnddddd
remembered that he has to wear a pull-up at night, just in case.
Then I really did panic.
I checked.
Underwear.
I groaned and flopped down again.
I must have shaken him a million times and whispered his name just as many when, finally, his eyes fluttered open.
"[nephew's name], you need to put a pull-up on!"
. . .
He was already back to sleep.

-_-

Needless to say, I changed it for him. He slept through the whole thing.

* * *

It must have been 7 or something. I didn't even bother to open my eyes long enough to tell. "Padie....Padie! Wake up, iss mornin'!"
"NO."
"Yesss, hehehe."
"[nephew's name], no way. I'm not getting up...EVER."
"Otay. I'm gunna toe eat brefest. See wa waiter!"
~ 20 minutes pass ~
I roll over, and my hand lands on something alive. My eyes pop open, and just as quickly close. I think they sealed themselves right after.
"[other nephew's name], what are you doing?"
[Other nephew] turns to face me. "Tnugglin wid you."
Me: "Oh."
Silence.
[Other nephew]: "It's morning, Paigie - "
I sounded like a dead person when I groaned.
"will you read me stories now?"
A slow smile crept across my face, but my eyes wouldn't open. So I used my fingers and pried them open. By now, my nephew is curious as to what on earth I am doing. "Watcha doing, Paige?"
I replied.
I don't think I managed to say it in English. I didn't even think it in English. Even I couldn't understand it.
 "Ahfkuwgfbkjdcgiewfbkbkdbskalqondcneks!"
"What?" he asked.
"I dunno," I muttered. It took my hands away from my eyelids - instant close. I sighed. "Oh well. I guess I'm too tired. My eyes won't open."
"I help you - "
"NO - that's OK! I've got it..." and a handful of blinks later, I did.
I read two stories to both of my roommates before my oldest little sister came in to announce that waffles were ready - BAM! - they were off like a shot. I lay back down and pondered my day for three minutes. And then I got up, dressed, and went out to water the garden....just like every other day.

Except that when I came in today, my buddies came running up to me and hugged me. "You home!" they shouted.
I laughed at them and began our morning wrestle.

I promised more pics of my sister's chest, and I'm about to make good on that promise.

I painted the chest turquoise - her favorite color, and Saturday night I added the Bible verse and other details in silver.
Matthew 6:21 seemed prefect for a small chest - "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

The second picture down shows you the top of the actual storage part, where I wrote a dedication to my sister. You might be able to see that I addressed it, "To my precious vanilla waifer...." - the rest doesn't show. I wanted to draw your attention to that because it's my special nickname for her. So from now on, whenever I refer to this particular sister, you'll see me call her Vanilla Waifer.

Wiafer - isn't that spelled wrong? Eh, technically, yes. But for the meaning, no. And the meaning to both parts is kind of strange. But hey, it's what came to mind a couple of months back, and it stuck.
If you don't think it's a nice nickname, try mine - Paigie Poo.
Who wants a nickname ending in Poo?!?
You can thank all of my bestest friends and family for that. -_-

The flower I drew inside the front panel of the chest, under the "I ♥ you! ~ I ♥ you! ~ ....". It's not very good, but it's something. Also, there are little hearts on either side of the flower...just not close enough for the picture to show.

The lighting was weird when I was taking pictures, so the pictures I have of the photo album that we siblings gave to Vanilla Waifer turned out weird...but actually kind of cool. It's like the edges of the photo sleeves inside fuzzed out into cloudiness.....

See what I mean?

The rest of my day consists of:
Memorizing lines for the skit
Trying to make my room a little neater
Sewing
Probably more pictures
Getting ready for VBS
Leaving early for VBS
VBS
Home
Kids in bed
Devotions
Lights out
Blissful sleep

I'd better get crackin'!
Yeehaw!
-not-

Sleepy, sore, and grumpy,

Birthday Bash - Crazy Sunday Edition

Crazy Sunday for sure!

I slept late, which has been a very frequent problem for me lately.
We missed Sunday School.
I'm the only person who waters the garden, so sleeping late means I have to get creative about it, and waste time.
Oh yeah, and I had to water the front flower bed and the lilacs at the side of the house, and our soon to be planted hydrangea bush.
We cleaned house every chance we got (not that you would be able to tell now!).
Church service was awesome, as normal, but we couldn't hang out and chat, so that was a bummer.
Came home and put away dishes 2 or 3 times before they were all done.
REALLY cleaned my room. Imagine that - I have a floor! (covered in dirt and fuzzies and random paper scraps and eraser bits.....)
My brother and little sister's joint birthday party began
. . .
Well, let me just say, in our family, a birthday party is really actually a child zoo, and we've been having a LOT of those lately. =D
Stuffed my face, tried to photograph my youngest niece, listened to frequent squeals - from my nephews, mostly - wandered about, etc.
Then it was dessert time....both of my siblings went the strawberry route, so it was a choice of strawberry cake with strawberry frosting, or strawberry jello mousse. I had both. =)
Next was presents - probably the most popular thing at a party for those who are receiving. ;)
My brother got a lot of stuff he has wanted for his room, along with nice amounts of cash.
My sister got cash, earrings, best friends feather hair clips, perfume, body lotion, sunglasses, a bead set, a photo album (with 2/3 of the book already filled), and a small wooden trunk that has been on her wish list for over a year.
A package is coming in the mail for her, and then there is one more gift that she could be getting.
She made out like a feminine bandit. Haha.

The photo album is a joint gift from all of us siblings - which reminds me, they all owe me some moolah! Haha, yes!!! =D
Ehem.
Moving on.
The wooden chest was from me. I got both the photo album on sale back in...January, I think? Anyways, with the sales going on,I got the album for about 1/2 normal price, the painting and writing supplies that I used on the chest for 1/2 price, also, and using a coupon, I got the chest for almost half. It was a major score. I am pretty sure it was all under $25...but I could be wrong.

Of course, the craziness didn't stop after gifts, especially since we have house guests for the rest of the week....4 very energetic youngsters who rise with the sun, and snuggle-buggle the best until about 8:30. Then they can't take it any longer, and there is no rest for the weary until around 9:30 at night. The noise level increases about 179% for the entire week.
Clean is a thing of the past. On all levels.
Close to Clean is laughable.
Filthy is perfect.
All 7 pairs of little feet make generous contributions to the above statement. Four pairs of bigger feet attract the contributions and redistribute.
Then the numerous stuffed animals, 'blankies', pillows, and bodies - don't ask - smoosh the dirt+ around.
It usually takes a month to recover.
But it's worth every second!

Haha, don't ask me how I feel about it next week, or 1st thing tomorrow morning, or in a few minutes when I go to bed and have to move a handsome little man out of my way so that I can sleep...he gets pretty heavy!

So maybe this post didn't have much point, but I had to blog about something, and my life is somewhat little bit of sort of something. lol.

Two quick pics of the chest I gave to my sister:

More to follow - but not today. =)

And that's a wrap!!!

With lot's of yawns and random blinkings,

Creation Museum

Howdy y'all. Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. Two weeks ago was a very difficult week for my family. Thanks for everyone who prayed for us, and thank you Paige for filling in for me.

What I was going to write about the week that Paige subbed for me was about my amazing trip to the Creation Museum in Kentucky. For those of you who have been there it's incredible right? For those who haven't been there please go. If you don't you are missing out on something spectacular. I won't tell you about all the things you can see there, cause I don't want to ruin any surprises ;) . However I will give you a sample of what you will see.

When you walk into the main area, you are immediately amazed...dinosaurs and jungle life, great cafes, and a really cool gift shop.

Next you go into the the grand canyon section, where they give examples of what you will find on a dinosaur dig. Those fossils were something else.
Then comes the 7 C's

The garden of Eden, was done very well. It gave a great picture of what the actual garden might have looked like.

Noah's Ark...in case you didn't know they are actually going to build an ark there at the museum. It's going to be the exact size that God told Noah to build. Yeah it's going to be ginormous.

Here's a model of what it would look like:
Then there's the gardens....
Absolutely gorgeous
I stepped outside and just stared in amazement.

Yep there's a petting zoo...You will just have to go to see what other kinds of animals there are other than hungry goats :D

This guy came about 2-3 feet away from my mom and and my brother Matthew...not shy at all. So beautiful...

I hope you enjoyed the pictures, and that they made you want to go see it for yourself. We also saw Men in White there....let's just say it was full of surprises lol :)

Hope everyone had a great two weeks and a terrific 4th of July.

Enjoy the rest of your week and God bless!

Simply Saturday

So I had a busy week, and didn't blog Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. I did intend to blog....but that didn't happen. So instead I'll post a little bit of what I meant to do. Mostly photos. I'll have to explain later. =) But I think you'll get a glimpse of my week in these photos.

I believe Elisa plans on blogging again this upcoming week, but if that's not the case, you'll be hearing from me soon. =)

Here are my top 'pics' of the week!

For those who may be wondering, only pics 1, 2, and 4 were edited. I didn't have time to spruce up the others.

Any questions about these pics? Want to know certain details? Ask anything in the comments below, and I will answer your questions and satisfy your curiosity to the best of my ability when I post about them!

Thanks for reading what little I managed to post this week!!!
